A&Co. Legal represents clients in the Helsinki Capital Region in all immigration matters — from residence permit applications to appeals before the Helsinki Administrative Court and the Supreme Administrative Court.
Why choose an immigration lawyer in the Helsinki region?
Most immigration cases in Finland are processed in the Helsinki region: Migri's headquarters and main service point are in Helsinki, and the Helsinki Administrative Court handles the majority of immigration appeals. Having a local lawyer means faster document handling, the ability to attend in-person meetings, and direct familiarity with the local authorities and their practices. A&Co. Legal's office is in Vantaa, conveniently accessible from Helsinki, Espoo, and the rest of the Capital Region. We also represent clients remotely across Finland and abroad.
Which authorities handle immigration cases in the Helsinki region?
In the Helsinki region, the key authorities are: the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri), headquartered in Helsinki, which processes residence permit, citizenship, and asylum applications; the Helsinki Administrative Court, which hears appeals against Migri decisions; and the Supreme Administrative Court (KHO), which hears appeals on leave from administrative court decisions. The police and the Finnish Border Guard also handle certain immigration matters, such as entry ban decisions at the border and registration of foreign nationals. A&Co. Legal represents clients before all of these authorities.
How do I get to your office from Helsinki?
Our office is at Merikotkantie 1, 01450 Vantaa, approximately 15 minutes from Helsinki city centre by car or public transport. The office is easily accessible from Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa. For clients who cannot visit in person, we offer remote consultations by phone or video and can handle the entire case electronically. Documents can be sent securely through our online portal. Call +358 45 1368392 or email helsinki@acolegal.fi to arrange a consultation.
Can you represent me if I live outside Helsinki?
Yes. While our office is in the Capital Region, we represent clients across Finland and internationally. Immigration cases are largely document-based, which means they can be handled remotely without you needing to visit our office. We communicate by phone, email, and video, and manage documents electronically. If your case requires an in-person hearing before an administrative court elsewhere in Finland, we arrange representation accordingly. Many of our clients are abroad when they first contact us — for example, a family member in Finland initiates the process on their behalf.
How much does an immigration lawyer in Helsinki cost?
Many immigration cases qualify for public legal aid, which means that if your income is below the threshold, you pay only a reduced deductible or nothing at all. For private clients and businesses, our hourly rate is 250 EUR/h. A consultation typically costs 150–300 EUR, an application review 300–600 EUR, and an appeal against a negative decision 1,000–3,000 EUR depending on complexity. Full administrative court representation is billed separately. We always provide a written cost estimate before starting any work. Legal aid clients pay nothing or a small deductible, depending on income.
When should I contact an immigration lawyer?
Contact an immigration lawyer as early as possible — ideally before you submit an application. A lawyer can help you choose the correct permit type, ground the application properly, and avoid common mistakes that lead to delays or refusals. If you have already received a negative decision, contact a lawyer immediately — the appeal deadline and procedure are stated in the appeal instructions (valitusosoitus) included with the decision, and the deadline is strict. If you have received a deportation order or entry ban, the deadline is also short. The sooner you involve a lawyer, the more options are available. A&Co. Legal offers initial consultations to assess your situation and recommend next steps.
